Need to enhance your self-awareness practice?
#MUVEMONDAYS - Episode 02
Today, we’ll cover how diet and financial wellbeing can be influenced by our everyday decisions and practices.
Wellness is related to absolutely EVERYTHING in our lives. Food and finances are two of the biggest sources of both pleasure and pain across cultures, countries, and language.
Everybody needs to eat and most of us need money to get the food...
Specifically, we’ll touch on clean eating habits, weight gain, muscle gain, food cravings, and the connection between emotions and financial wellbeing.
As we know with all things in life, to get the best results, there must be involvement in developing a self-awareness practice on your own terms...
The #MUVEMondays series is the rooted in SELF, so we will not aim to give advice that we believe is some kind of “magic bullet” to the change you want to see in your life, but instead we intend to point out your own power and capability to change your own life the way you see fit.
Welcome to #MUVEMondays where YOU get answer and solutions to your biggest wellness concerns! We are not here to teach you so you learn, but instead, here to point so you discover...
What you'll discover on the show this week:
You'll discover holistic solutions to top wellness challenges in two major areas of discussion rooted in food and finance: (1) Clean eating (2) Financial Wellness
Here are a few helpful tips to ease your transition and your understanding of how powerful and capable you truly are in pursuit of your dietary and financial goals…
"When you’re looking outside of yourself for something that requires inner-work to find, it doesn’t have space to arrive inside.
When you’re searching for that one thing that you really want to have... that you’re frustrated that you don’t have... that thing that is so close, you can almost touch it.
And you are in a state of waiting for it...
And you know that once THIS THING happens I can gain it...
And you know that ‘If I don’t get THIS MUCH of it, I don’t want it (all or nothing)...
Then…
You don’t leave space for it to arrive as is with respect to it as itself.
This means: IF due to your expectations of how it is and what it is and who it will come through is already ‘here’ in your mind, crowding up all of your inner space and you are thinking ‘I don’t have this thing but once I have this thing I can move’... If it’s already here, it can never come here. In order for _____ to be able to come ‘here’ you must first, from the inside out, let ______ go… and THEN it will arrive. Namaste"

“Biggest challenge is having the discipline to view food as medicine rather than as sensory indulgence.”
Solutions to Challenge # 1: Clean Eating
What's Really Going On: What do you do when you feel like you want to eat healthy food more often, but don’t know how to act on that feeling because you don’t want to lose weight?
Great news! The answer is simple: Find what works for you.
Okay, we know, that sounds a bit vague, but believe it or not the first step in changing any major aspect of your daily life (like what you usually grab to eat) is to research and experiment with different options until you discover resonance with a new routine.
What do you do when you have started eating healthy, but you just can’t shake strong cravings for the tasty stuff?
Mindfulness Remedies:
“Let thy food be thy medicine”... but be careful not to only consume medicine because you may accidentally fall into a habit of thinking you are sick all of the time.
Disregard what your friends and family say about your weight changes when you are taking on new habits or cleansing your body of toxins.
If you feel like you are losing weight due to a transition into healthier eating habits, it may not be a bad thing so before you assume it is, look deeply into what could be causing the weight change.
Before a meal and about an hour after a meal ask yourself "how has my body reacted to this food?" Using your experiential knowledge, implement new habits based on what your body tells you in response to food
Take moments in your day to observe how you feel in regards to your health and wellness
Meditation and Listen inward. Use intentional breathing as a tool to activate your intuition.
Ask yourself: Is this food going to do what I want my food to do? Is it going to do the opposite? I’m I going to be the person that doesn’t follow my planned dietary practice? (Right now) am I going to play the role of the person who doesn’t want to follow their own dietary practice?
Lisa Nichols - Expose the Lies exercise to identify, confront, and push past limiting beliefs around financial wellness, etc.
Practice mindful yoga (i.e. Kemetic yoga, etc.) or or other mindful exercises (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, etc.) to stimulate your parasympathetic nervous systems healing response
Medicinal Herbal Remedies:
Herbs should be organic and/or wild-crafted. Herbs can be eaten fresh, or brewed into a tea (and burned in the case of sage).
Dietary/Digestive Remedies:
Dr. Amen Ra’s regimine is SUPER complex but something worth looking into for inspiration as it may pertain to how far you COULD take your healthy eating habits
Eat organic, non-GMO foods
Cut down on meat (or for some cut meat out entirely).
Enrich your diet with fresh, raw fruits and leafy greens that are rich in B-vitamins and vitamin C
Apply food-combining principles and consume alkaline-forming foods
Fasting
Intermittent fasts (in between meals eliminating snacks and excessive frequent sipping or drinking water/juice/soda).
Aids in digestion process
Helps your body send clearer messages about what you just ate and what it needs.
Fasting from specific harmful foods in stages (i.e. today cut out pork and red meat, next month cutting out poultry, next soda and refined sugars, then dairy products, etc.,)
Taking your time alleviates extreme withdraw symptoms
Helps reduce cravings
Full fasts and Micro fasts (3 days, 7 days, 21 days, 40 days, 90 days)
100% juice (not from concentrate), alkaline water, and herb brews
Food cravings are often rooted in emotional and spiritual needs as well as how you view yourself
Restful Remedies:
Carve out time for listening to how your body responds to new routines
Get sufficient rest
Fitness Remedies:
For muscle growth / Ketosis activation, consider looking into the Vegan Strongman, Dr. Amen Ra’s regimen (one meal a day, meditation and rest, vegan, nutrient-dense foods, aerobics and resistance training at different specific times of day, cyclic daily fasting, etc.)
Evening resistance training
Trying out a routine that facilitates a state of ketosis in the body
This accelerates natural growth-hormone activity

Solutions to Challenge # 2:
What's Really Going On: When the bills and expenses don’t properly align with the income and the savings, is it only because I’m not working the right job or because I’m missing something? How do I make it right?!
Jumping into your goals with the financial concerns coming later may be scary, but most people who realize their life goals and dreams have said similar things to: “One day we just decided to go for it and never turned back.”
That is precisely what Ufulu Child has done and you can too, if you do so authentically with a clear vision of what you want. Ponder this question as you decide your next step: “What would I do if I were to use the money I have now to follow my dreams instead of putting it to[this/that]?”
Medicinal Herbal Remedies:
Herbs should be organic and/or wild-crafted. Herbs can be eaten fresh, or brewed into a tea (and burned in the case of sage).
Mindfulness Remedies:
Meditate and Listen inward. Use intentional breathing as a tool to activate your intuition.
Lisa Nichols - Expose the Lies exercise to identify, confront, and push past limiting beliefs around financial wellness, etc.
Take moments in your day to observe how you feel in regards to your financial state and how it is affecting you.
Remember the mind is not always your friend in these times so utilize your ability to discern your own thoughts.
Try to refrain from tumbling down fearful trains of thought and practice gratitude in the face of fearful situations
Don’t identify with the fearful beliefs you have about the relationship you have with money. You have the power.
Restful Remedies:
Take time to stop thinking and talking about money-related issues and tensions after a certain time of day and deal with them during the next day.
Get sufficient rest
